This report details the methodology of the "Analysis on Impacts of Artificial Intelligence and Algorithmic Management in the Workplace" (AIM-WORK) survey, conducted in 2024-2025 by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. The survey's primary objective is to assess the prevalence and implications of algorithmic management, digital monitoring, and AI-driven tools in workplaces across the European Union. Data was collected from 70,316 individuals aged 16-65 across all 27 EU Member States through a mobile-only Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) approach. The fieldwork ran from October 23, 2024, to January 21, 2025. Building on the preceding AMPWORK survey, the questionnaire covers the use of digital devices, AI tools, digital monitoring, and algorithmic management practices.

It outlines the questionnaire's development, including cognitive testing and translation; the sampling design using a random-digit dialing (RDD) framework; and the management of fieldwork, training, and quality control. Furthermore, the report details the data processing phase, which includes data validation, weighting procedures to ensure sample representativeness, and the systematic coding of respondents' occupations (ISCO-08) and their employers' economic activities (NACE Rev. 2).
