Introduction
OMNI 3D® Seismic Survey Design and Modeling is a computer application used to
design and analyze 2D and 3D seismic surveys. It was originally created for the design
of 3D land surveys and the analysis of fold, offset, and azimuth contributions. At the
time, memory and disk space were limited resources in computing technology.
Through scientific and client contributions, as well as technological advancement, OMNI
3D has developed into a comprehensive tool that can be used to design and analyze
many different types of surveys, in different environments. It can also model various
geological subsurface volumes to determine the most effective survey that satisfies the
goal and budget of the project. OMNI 3D has been built to be fast and easy to use.
                                                Survey Types and Environments:
Land: 2D Lines, 3D Orthogonal, or 3D Parallel
 OBC: Orthogonal or Parallel
Marine Streamers: Swath or Coil Shooting
 VSP: Near,offset, Far,offset, Walkaway, or 3D
 Transition Zones
 Reflection Tomography
