A Guide Book to Hiking and Climbing Photography :
This book is about becoming a better photogra- pher. I assume that you are already taking pictures while on your hikes, but that you aren’t necessarily satisfied with them. You may often feel disappointed when looking at your images after the trip because, beautiful as they may be, you don’t find that they ad- equately convey what the experience was truly like. This book will help you start—or maybe just give you a good shove—on the path toward better, and more personal, photographs in the outdoors.
One important note: I will focus on what makes mountain photography different from everyday ur- ban photography, and I will assume that you have already mastered the basics of photography. If you don’t already know about shutter speed, focal length, aperture, ISO, RAW format, etc., then you will prob- ably find much of this book confusing. At this stage of your learning process, you might gain more from learning these basic concepts than from reading this book or any other advanced manual.
