Lama Jigme Rinpoche was born in Kham of east Tibet in 1949. He received his Buddhist education and training alongside the main Kagyu lineage teachers. In 1977, during his visit in Europe, the 16th Karmapa declared Dhagpo Kagyu Ling in Dordogne, France, as his european seat or headquarters of his activities and appointed Jigme Rinpoche as his official representative and director of dhagpo. Since then, Jigme Rinpoche has continued to carry out his responsibilities. He also travels to many countries to give teachings.
