This deployment separates Ed from his Wife Jeannie, who is a Navy Nurse, who also spends the rest of the War at the Hospital at Pearl Harbor and in Wellington News Zealand..
Ed and the Battalion are then engaged in many campaigns during the War on the various Islands held by the Japanese with final and bloodiest battle of the Pacific Okinawa. The War was not over for Ed, in August 1945 with the deployment of the 6th Marine Divison to China to bring home American Prisoners of War.
