Freedom balances on the one between worlds.
Beyond
earthly vantage, uppermost skies weigh upon those born to them. A
commoner of the oppressive, sky-swaddled Sidera, Atlas of Taurus
abandons his cyclic labors and engrained chants and does the impossible:
escapes his homeland. He falls to the Earth of his Imperium’s contempt,
anticipating a life of freedom he never knew.
But Atlas’s time
settling into this new, strange world is cut short. Led by a histrionic
beauty, the fiery enemies of Sidera, the Accenda, discover his arrival
and unauthorized immigration and soon pursue the impossible traveler
gifted with an interdimensional mobility that could upend their borders.
Atlas and his newfound human friend, Gene, and less-human annoyance,
Samuel, find themselves swept into an impending war between two
extremist superhuman races racing for the first shot. The desperate trio
speeds along verdant Pennsylvanian hills, dusty Midwestern highways,
and dilapidated cityscapes, crash coursing in humanity, as they seek
answers to their external threats and internal demons—or perhaps flee
them. Bloodthirsty ravens and hand-thrusted blazes seem to follow
wherever they go.
The only Sideran in centuries to travel at
will, Atlas must hone his powers over wind currents and bear the skies
if he’s to withstand the collision of opposite ideologies that verge on
snatching away not only his freedom, but the universe’s. The portal
between worlds and war bulges at the jambs. When victory means never
letting war begin, what prophesied price for peace will exceed that of
blood?
