The foundation of this book is my relevant educational background and extensive professional and research experiences. It spans my professional work experience as an HRM Business Partner with HSBC, Global Organizational Development Manager at Giunti Psychometrics, and a PhD in human resource information systems
within the healthcare sector that moved to (ethics of) people analytics and now to my current focus on AI and the Future of Work. Throughout this journey, I have observed the growing diffusion of AI across HRM and the pressing need for a balanced approach that not only leverages AI’s capabilities but also upholds the principles
of responsible and ethical use.
The chapters within this book are thoughtfully structured to guide readers through the complex landscape of AI in HRM. The book begins by exploring Human Resource (HR) technologies, considering them through the configurational approach, which views HRM practices as a combination of operational, relational, and transformational elements. The book consistently addresses the dual perspectives on AI-both its transformative potential and the fears surrounding its disruptive impact on the future of work and management. In doing this, the book draws on my original research and works published by international colleagues.
