Authoritarian leaders such as Enver Hoxha, Todor Zhivkov, Josip Broz Tito and Slobodan Milosevic are part of a time-honored tradition of Balkan authoritarian rule that saw the domination of some of the most colorful but also brutal leaders of twentieth century.
