Barnaby Rudge: A Tale of the Riots of Eighty, commonly known as Barnaby Rudge, is a historical novel by writer Charles Dickens. It is set in the anti-Catholic riots in England in the year 1780. It was the first attempt by its author to practice the historical novel; He only published another novel of that type: A Tale of Two Cities.

The story begins at the Maypole Inn where owner John Willet and his three cronies are gathered.
