Появились новые пассажирские самолеты , которые уже не были переделкой военных машин прошлой войны а были разработаны специально для гражданских авиаперевозок. Портовые города были связаны авиалиниями на которых работали гидросамолеты. Переход на многомоторные машины позволил поднять вместимость и в целом увеличить надежность и безопасность полетов.
