Do Good Design How Designers Can Change The World 1st Edition David B Berman by David B. Berman 9780321573209, 032157320X instant download after payment.

I believe that designers can change, the world, and agree with many points Berman makes. He argues that designers should choose work to stem overconsumption and exploitation. I think this is a noble, but unrealistic thought. Companies will always find people to push their products. In our market-driven economy it is the legal responsibility of public companies to try to make as much profit as possible.
I think it's great for designers to want to do better, more responsible work. I think there would have to be some kind of unified design movement for this to happen, which isn't outlined anywhere in the book.
The message of the book is positive, but, the execution is lacking. I found the thing to be quite rambling and couldn't read it word for word. Perhaps this is intended. In the end it's not really a "how-to", more of a "you really shoud."
