At a minimum, students will write, rewrite, and then rewrite their paragraphs. During each of these steps, students reflect on their writing, look for mistakes, and develop their writing skills.
Students will learn about main ideas, supporting sentences, and transition phrases. They will learn about writing opinions, writing descriptions and writing stories, that is writing expository, descriptive and narrative paragraphs.
All the free writing sections are proceeded by vocabulary brainstorming sessions. This will help students to develop the vocabulary they need to express the meaning that they wish to express. In addition, students are tasked with cataloging and writing down all their new words and expressions. This will help them develop good self-study skills and teach them how to study vocabulary more effectively.
The book includes pull includes pull-out homework pages. These are for rewrites and they're to be handed in to the teacher or a writing tutor for feedback.
The EFL Writer's Workbook finishes with a Capstone Project, which is a student newspaper. The student newspaper then becomes a portfolio for that student's writing. Secondly, it is a vehicle for further tasks repetition.
