This publication draws chiefly on two learning paradigms: technology-enhanced learning (TELL) and informal language learning. It overthrows the hegemony of formalized learning and hails informal learning as a patent part of humankind, while also focusing on informal learning under the aegis of digital technologies. It accounts for the implications of shortening the distance between formal and informal learning of English as a second language (L2).
