Environment Climate And Social Justice Perspectives And Practices From The Global South Devendraraj Madhanagopal by Devendraraj Madhanagopal, Christopher Todd Beer, Bala Raju Nikku, André J. Pelser, (eds.) 9789811919862, 9811919860 instant download after payment.

The initial thoughts to produce this book originated during the discussions between the two editors (Devendraraj Madhanagopal and Bala Raju Nikku) in October 2020. We recognized a compelling need to produce a book that provides a comprehensive and holistic overview of Environment, Climate, and Social Justice. Initially, we thought of writing this book with an exclusive focus on South Asia. Over the period, we realized that the exclusive focus on South Asia would not be sufficient, and there is a need to focus on the entire Global South, especially to discuss climate justice challenges.Along with him, I put together our thoughts and invited Christopher Todd Beer and André J. Pelser to join us as the co-editors to produce this book. They shared a great interest in working on this book and offered valuable insights and support to produce it throughout the process. I am thankful to Christopher Todd Beer, Bala Raju Nikku, and André J. Pelser for their valuable support and motivation.
In late 2020, I approached some potential scholars in different regions of the world who could contribute chapters for this book. I received an overwhelming response- from them. A few potential scholars could not contribute chapters due to their work schedules; however, they shared their best wishes and noted the imperatives of producing such a comprehensive edited volume, focusing on the Global South. I thank all our contributing authors for their support and commitment throughout the process.
As the themes and regional focus of the chapters are highly diversified, it was expected to face certain challenges in identifying reviewers. Nevertheless, thankfully, we found a good number of potential senior and emerging scholars, educators, and practitioners in different regions of the world who could provide peer reviews to our submitted manuscripts. I sincerely thank all our reviewers for supporting us to maintain the quality of the manuscripts by sharing their valuable insights and suggestions.
