0 reviewsI want to give it 10 stars!!!! Each book of this series has replaced the previous one as my favourite upon its release and this does not disappoint, even if it made me cry the most. We waited almost 2 years for this book and it was worth it in every sense. Arguably this could be my favourite series, not just this genre but my number 1 full stop. It is 100% my comfort read and Ill never stop rereading. This story and these characters are firmly lodged deep in my heart.
Throughout the entire series, there is not a scene or chapter that is unnecessary or could be considered a filler. Each and every one is vital to the plot or the relationships between the characters (which I all love, they are so rich and beautifully complex). There is something to be gleaned from every word. Everything is pivotal to progressing the plot line, even the smallest of things, and it is all utterly enjoyable to read. And that is to say nothing of how friendships, alliances and relationships develop and blossom.
White has created something so special with The Firebird Chronicles, it will stick me with through the rest of my reading years. If only one series could be adapted for the screen, I would want it to be this one and I want it adapted word for word!!! Plus any bonus content available <3
The world building in this series continues to impress; I love seeing more of the planet (both wild and the city), the different roles and politics and learning more about the ki and MeaAve. The fashion and the architecture are fantastic, as of course are the weapons!!
As with the rest of the series, I dont believe it ends on a cliffhanger but a hook/starting point for the next instalment. The dilemma of this book is wrapped up and the stones are laid for book 5. This one may be slightly more painful than those prior but it is to be expected as we reach the storys peak. As much as I want to know how it all ends and see my favourites get their happy ending, I dont want to leave these worlds and this story anytime soon. It will be painful waiting for book 5 but as with this one it will be worth it, however long it takes. A book like this, one of Whites calibre, is worth waiting years for. Though I hope it wont be (:
