Product desciption

Into The Buzzsaw Leading Journalists Expose The Myth Of A Free Press Revised And Expanded Brjesson by Börjesson, Kristina 9781591022305, 1591022304 instant download after payment.

I provided a somewhat dim preface to the first edition of Kristina Borjesson's collection of stories censored/ suppressed by print editors and publishers, not to mention by those TV producers and advertisers who determine what Americans should and should not know about the products that they are expected to consume unquestioningly -from skewed States of the Union to tainted junk food. But since Buzzsaw One our world has changed. We have been exposed not only to a blizzard of lies from our government on matters of war and peace but to bold litigation by corporate America against whistleblowers of the sort gathered now in Buzzsaw Two. Borjesson is democratic in her choice of journalists: she allows such brand names as Dan Rather and Christiane Amanpour to tell us what they actually think about the awful coverage of the buildup to the Iraq War where, on the subject of those imagined weapons of mass destruction, Amanpour tells us that "the press was muzzled and I think the press self-muzzled," earning her a rebuke from the CNN Newsgroup president who plainly thinks the world of his incredible product.

Certainly CNN's idea of a lead story is a domestic murder in Modesto, California, to be proudly peddled for months, even years, as "Breaking News," which suggests that the proper title for Borjesson's collection is "Broken News," now repaired.

The most interesting pieces are, for want of a better word, context pieces in which the background to a startling news item is examined. For instance, those rumors that seemed never to stop about American prisoners of war being held post-1972 by the Viet Cong were true despite the Nixon-Kissinger denials.
