This book provides an up to date, high-level exchange on God in a uniquely productive style. The book also provides original lines of thought based on the authors' own contributions to the field, and offers a productive and innovative inquiry into on one of the biggest questions people ask: what is the ultimate explanation of things?
Somebody out there on the book/some subjective observations:
Is God the Best Explanation of Things? A Dialogue = this title between the lines suggests God is not the best explanation....
Why not this title: What/Who is the best Explanation of Things? A two way street Dialogue
On the first page of the books it is stated:
"We explore the topic in a friendly, constructive manner. Rather than
seek to win an argument, we aim to build upon each other’s ideas in an
effort to see more truth. We do not hold up flags for a team or tribe.
Nor do we seek victory in a debate. Instead, we seek to learn from each
other, as we seek new paths into new lands."
and then almost at the very end of the book it has been written:
"In my experience as a philosopher, I have found that the more I seek
to understand the foundation of existence, the more treasures I find
within the foundation. The foundation is greater than I had imagined. It
is more inclusive. It is wiser. It is more just. No religion can contain its
grandeur. These truths are inspiring." p. 278
This is a very good book BUT still remains the question: does at all exist such thing as an objective opinion?
Read the book and bring your own objective conclusion from the position of your own camp/tribe :))
