About the AuthorWilliam Deverell’s acclaimed first novel, Needles, which drew on his experiences as a criminal lawyer, won the $50,000 Seal Award. Since then he has published thirteen further novels, including Trial of Passion, for which he won the Hammett Prize for literary excellence in crime writing and Canada’s Arthur Ellis Award for best crime novel.
