John was born and brought up in Bridgeton, in the East end of Glasgow, and loved every minute of it.

He joined the Royal Highland Fusiliers, serving in both Belfast and Berlin, and now meets up with friends from his old regiment to tell stories and partake of a refreshment or two. John believes in the concept of right and wrong and has never knowingly stated a falsehood.
