Shehad served in the Malaysian Foreign Service for 32 years before retiring inJune 2008. She served insix diplomatic posts abroad, four of which werea t the Ambassadorial level- as Ambassador of Malaysia to France, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Malaysia to theUnited Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador of Malaysia to Austria and Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations in Vienna, and Ambassador of Malaysia to the United States of America. Datuk Dr. Rajmah is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of International and Strategic Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur since2009.
