The purpose of the present book is to provide information on the experience gained so far in the field of Marine Spatial Planning worldwide. The book contents have been organized along three main axis: the first section provides background information on the progress of MSP, problems and opportunities, present legal and governance instruments implemented so far around the world and provide an assessment of water quality and ecosystems’ good health around the world. The second section presents methodological procedures.
