Mysterious and chilling events on an alien world threaten the interstellar survival of the human race…

They have awoken surrounded by alien stars. Following their abduction from Earth, Laura Sinclair and son, Jason, lead a group of desperate humans in a bid to forge their own future and that of their home planet.

To succeed, they must solve the puzzle of extraterrestrial races in the throes of a perplexing and historic conflict.

But they are in a strange new universe; on a bizarre and dangerous planet. Who can they really trust as they struggle to understand the challenging and hostile environment that holds them in a grip of iron? And what do the aliens really plan for them and their hybrid children?

This is the exciting second book in the Milijun series. Enter a world like no other as the truth will out in a realm as far away from home as it ever gets.

Amidst Alien Stars is part of a series, but can also be enjoyed as a standalone.

"What to say about this novel? Or where to begin? There is world building of such depth and lush detail that you could almost feel it. The characters are large, alive, and so very real, with not one being black or white but filled with the contrasts every person has." Kay Mack TOP 1000 REVIEWER

"Not only is this an exciting, action-packed paged turner - I love the intelligence reflected, the witty dialogue, and the genuine depth in the characters’ emotions. This is an impeccable, perfectly-paced, emotional and gripping read, with fantastic world building." Meenaz Lodhi

"Admirable world-building and the unsurpassable, indefatigable, drive of the human Spirit to not just survive, but to thrive, power this engrossing sequel to the author's debut science fiction, MILIJUN." Mallory A Haws

Review

FIVE STAR REVIEW
Author Clayton Graham has created a superbly exciting sequel in the throes of deep space, which encompasses the best qualities of both space opera personal dramas and the hard science fiction of alien wars and political battles. On the one hand, you have Laura and her fellow humans, terrified and determined to survive, who are portrayed with realistic grit and terror, their atmosphere oppressive and dark. On the other, we look into the wider world of the races that seek to control those alien stars and the worlds that look upon them, with a plot structure that makes good sense and leaves lots of room for twists, disasters, and dangers of its own. In this combination, Amidst Alien Stars becomes a fully rounded work of science fiction that is sure to tick the boxes for many fans of the genre: a recommended read.

FIVE STAR REVIEW
Milijun Book Two: Amidst Alien Stars is finally here. Laura Sinclair and her son Jason desperately try to navigate the dangerous planet where aliens threaten not only their survival, but the whole human race.
Chapter One finds Laura "studying the growth tanks" where each hybrid child will grow to maturity, every one of them imprinted with her son's DNA. Now in her forties, she finds herself grandmother to them all.
Here is a conversation between Jason and Laura in Chapter Six:
Laura took Jason to the wall just before dinner and recounted the second appearance of her secretive visitor. A fresh breeze was stirring the grass, and dark clouds were filling the sky. Maybe there was going to be one of the rainstorms that the Gliezan station orchestrated now and again. She was sure she was at the right spot, but the scratches were gone.
"Read the message, memorise, and swallow the paper," Jason said.
"What?"
"An old espionage method. Read the message and destroy the message. Covert operations."
"Are you saying the robot is some kind of spy?"
Jason shrugged. "How long was it with you?"
"Seconds," Laura replied. "A minute at the most, both times."
In the near distance, they could see what must have been one of the RNasia from the garden hovering just above the ground. Jason grabbed his mother's arm and walked away. The robot flitted closer. Is it listening?
"It wasn't that one," Laura said. "Or any of the others. It was different somehow."
"How different?"
Laura frowned, deep in thought. "I wish I could recall. There was something."
"Size, fingers, head, colour, what?"
Laura shook her head. "What does twenty-four marks mean?"
"What does twenty-four mean?" Jason echoed. "I can only associate it with hours in an Earth day. What else?"
"Don't know," Laura said, frowning. "It pointed at the sky, then possibly marked an Earth day." She clutched Jason's arm. "It can't mean we're leaving in a day's time. Returning to Earth."
Jason shook his head. "Surely not. Rjebni would have told us that, or Rfinsa. And the hybrids are still in the tanks." He stroked the wall. "This approach seems more furtive and very, very brief. There must be a reason for that."
"Somebody's spy?" Laura said again, repeating the previous thought. "A transient messenger."
"We can only be here at the same time you were tomorrow," Jason suggested. "See whether it returns."
Laura shook her head. "Not you, Jason. It's picking me out. And, if anything weird happens, you are needed here with the women. In any case, you are trying to get to another sphere."
Jason grimaced. "That's already been squashed by Rfinsa. There's something they don't want us to see. She essentially threatened us if we don't cooperate in their original scheme."
"All the same, better if you don't come," Laura said. "I'll ask Tala Hughes. She's longing for a bit of excitement."

I encourage you to read Milijun: Book One and follow it up with Amidst Alien Stars: Milijun Book Two. Author Clayton Graham will capture your imagination, take you on an adventure with characters that are both human and alien, with a story so philosophical that it almost defies fiction.
