About the editors
Jane Pollard is a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies at Newcastle University. Her research interests embrace geographies of money and finance and their intersection with regional economic development. She is a co-editor of Knowledge, Space, Economy (2000) and has published extensively in, among other journals, Antipode, Journal of Economic Geography, Environment and Planning A, Geoforum and Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers.
Cheryl McEwan is Reader in the Geography Department at Durham University. Her research interests lie at the intersections between development, cultural and political geographies and draw primarily on postcolonial and feminist theories. She is author of Postcolonialism and Development (2009) and Geography, Gender and Imperialism (2000), co-editor of Postcolonial Geographies (2002), and has published extensively in such journals as Society and Space, Political Geography, Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers, Cultural Geographies and Geoforum.
Alex Hughes is a Senior Lecturer in Geography at Newcastle University. Her research interests include cultural political economy, global commodity chains and networks, transnational retailers and corporate responsibility, and ethical trade and business responsibility. She is a co-editor of Geographies of Commodity Chains (2004) and has published in a range of journals, including Environment and Planning A, Journal of Economic Geography, Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers and Geoforum.
