36 reviewsSummary: “A collection of character-building Bible stories for children; includes learning activities”
From the Introduction:
In the Bible, Abraham was called “the friend of God” (James 2:23,
KJ21). In fact, the Bible is full of stories of people who were friends with
God. Securely Strong: God’s Faithful Friends is a collection of Bible
stories about people who became strong friends of God. They felt
securely strong in their obedience to God, their confidence in God, their
encouragement of others, their determination to be faithful, their
acceptance and offerings of forgiveness and mercy, and their praise to
God for the blessings He provided.
Some of these characteristics were demonstrated in how they treated
others, and some were shown in how they responded to God.
The books of Matthew and Luke both record the parable Jesus told
about the foolish man who built his house on the sand. When the storm
came, the house collapsed. However, the wise man built his house on a
rock, and it stood securely strong during the storm. Jesus said, “Everyone
who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise
man who built his house on the rock” (Matthew 7:24).
Would you like to feel safe and secure in your friendship with God?
Would you like the assurance that He will give you the strength you
need? We hope that as you read through the stories, connect with the
characters through the activities, and think through the questions, you
will stop and gather evidence in support of why these friends of God had
securely strong faith. Then be like the wise man in the parable—take
time to pray about how to put what you learn from these stories into
practice in your own life.
