While this book provides a comprehensive review of ship stability it is FULL of errors hence it must be used with great caution. Also some of the topics are presented in a manner that is unnecessarily complex, (i.e. there are much simplier ways of solving the problem). I have read every chapter and answered every question (over 500 of them!), - because I was required to! The previous version (5th Edition) should be considered an embarrassment to the current author, as it contained so many errors it could be considered as dangerous! Many of these errors were addressed in the current edition (6th ed), however in adding a further twelve chapters to this edition, the author has again included an unacceptable number of errors in the maths and the formulas. For example chapter 40 is so full of errors that readers of this topic would aquire a distorted view of the topic! If you have access to other books on ship stability as well as a good grasp of mathematics I would suggest that only then this book might be useful, but again ONLY if used with great care!
