This book consists of four parts. Part I, discussing “Basics of SERS and TERS”, the

recent progress on the electromagnetic enhancement mechanism of SERS, the chemical enhancement, and semiconductor-enhanced Raman scattering are described.

Part I of the book also describes the application of machine learning for an analysis

of SERS signals. In Part II, a variety of applications to material sciences and analytical chemistry are introduced, including monitoring of plasmon-assisted catalysis,

the applications of semiconductor-enhanced Raman scattering, and electrochemical

SERS. “Applications of SERS to biomedical sciences” are discussed in Part III. This

part contains nine biomedical applications that include point-of-care applications,

as well as medical applications of surface-enhanced spatially off-set Raman spectroscopy (SESORS). The last part of this collection is concerned with TERS studies.

Ångström-resolved TERS, the nanoscale imaging of photocatalytic processes using

TERS, and tip-enhanced Raman microscopy are outlined.
