This book came out in 1982 and in spite of the criticisms of
this text, I do think it has some value for those interested in
self-defense. This 84 page book has five sections: Kicking techniques,
which shows various basic karate kicks; Vital Points and kick attacks,
Hand techniques, vital points and hand attacks and finally street
fighting applications. Personally, I have always thought attempting
high kicks on the street was tactically unsound. May be a young martial
artist can perform these unrealistic high kicks on the street, but the
average person who is seeking practical self-defense should stay away
from high kicks. This volume does show various vulnerable areas of the
body and what "could" happen if struck by a foot or hand technique.
In conclusion, this book has some value for martial artists.
