Mundane astrology (from the Latin mundus meaning world, universe, humankind) is the branch of the celestial science dealing with political and world events. Heads of nations have consulted mundane astrologers for thousands of years. In his discussion of the Sibly chart for the US Declaration of Independence, Louis suggests that Ebenezer Sibly chose a symbolic time for his USA chart on the basis of the 18th century understanding of mundane astrology.
