0 reviewsAfter many months of writing, recording, and drawing, we screened the first rough cut of this episode, entitled "Blue Harvest," and we quickly realised there was too much funny material to cut it down to a half-hour.
So, we decided to make it an hour-long special: a first for Family Guy. Then, after many more months of work, and as we neared completion of the episode, FOX suggested that the episode might be a great DVD release.
Throughout the entire process, Lucasfilm could not have been a more supportive and generous partner. From allowing us to adapt George Lucas's characters into dog-Wookiees, overweight Irish space smugglers and infantile Sith lords, to granting us access to the film's original score, to inviting a few of us to stay at Skywalker Ranch, they have been ideal collaborators.
l'd especially like to thank Christopher Holm of Lucasfilm for his legal expertise - and a certain guy named George for participating in the interview you will find in this DVD's special features. (And, oh yeah, while we are at it, we'll thank him for creating the entire world of Star Wars and making all of our childhoods just a little more awesome).
I'd also like to acknowledge Dominic Polcino and the many artists and animators who contributed to this episode's extraordinarily cinematic look. And finally, l'd like to thank Alec Sulkin and the writers of Family Guy for being such enormous dorks.
Enjoy. And may the Force... well, you know.
