This book will first begin with the basic skills/techniques of reading music in conjunction with playing the various syllable sounds on the Doumbek.
In the later chapters, cultural specific Doumbek grooves are looked at in depth that range from traditional Balladi to other cultural forms of music; such as the Chilean, South American and African Dance grooves.
Instructions on how to play a variety of frame drums such as the Tar and Riqq are also covered.
