The main objective of the "WE: Wor(l)ds which Exclude" project is to study public policies targeting poor housing. Roma in several European countries face the same housing problems (unacceptable housing conditions in marginalized spaces, discrimination, forced evictions, etc.) and this common experience urges us to look at systematic practices and structural conditions. More specifically, we want to understand the role of public institutions in generating or maintaining this condition. Thus, the research focuses on the analysis of public policy documents and public space management measures. The hypothesis underlying the research is that public policies and measures taken by local governments to address housing problems have a specific ideological substratum based on stereotypes and prejudices against Roma. We want to identify, describe and analyze this ideological substratum. The research will be finalized with a country report and a guide for institutions involved in the development and implementation of policies and related measures.
