This is the second book in a series.
This is the last one that can be read as a standalone. If you want to continue with the Sorrelle sisters you’ve got to be all in after this. Things are complicated and intertwined, and even though each couple will get their own story and ending, the overarching story of the series picks up from here.
This is also significantly darker than the first book, or the rest of the books in the series. Aster has a very singular sense of justice, and a very specific way in which she carries it out. I warned you in the first book that she’s the scary sister. That was not a misconception on the part of others.
If situations involving violence, torture, and vengeance are too much for you, I do not recommend this book.
