This book argues that the UK, as a post-modern globalised state, will require means to have influence over events and opponents that threaten the UK's interests in the 21st century, and that its means is the Royal Navy. This is more or less a fantasy book by an expert on  the Royal Navy, who still has not understood that Britain is a sinking ship. They spent much of their limited budget on two aircraft carriers that have so many problems that they mostly are docked. They have to lease airplanes from the US, and have not enough supporting ships to defend the carriers. Their nuclear submarines are aged, and replacing them would cost more than a Post-Brexit UK could afford.
