94 reviewsThe book follows the war from fairly early, with a few plausible changes in early events, including a regime change, to the bitter end (and beyond).
A very mild spoiler ... The Germans lose and then (minorly) win, and the Soviets win and then lose. The world seems a better place afterwards though there are probably more battle deaths.
The series is very plausible and enjoyable.
The author writes in an entertaining style, and he stays close enough to historicity to seem "plausible", and you grow to care about most of his figures (although he sprinkles one or two in that you're meant not to care about to keep history "fair").
If you're looking for a history-based alternative to World War Two, hurry up and buy these books, you will not regret it.
