I was born in a little town on the border of St. Stephen, New Brunswick called Calais, Maine. We didn't stay long in Maine as my father was in the construction industry. We moved around quite a bit to follow the jobs, which once I started school always made me the "new girl." Since we moved every year to every other year, it was quite difficult to make lasting friendships so I turned to books at a young age to escape. In seventh grade, I was blessed with a teacher who taught me that I could write my own stories and create my own worlds. It only took a couple of classes before I was hooked! From then on, I wrote stories and poetry, weaving a world that only a thirteen year old can. As I grew, so did my writing and by my senior year of high school I had a full length novel complete named Emily's Choice. After high school, I joined the Air Force and my writing took a backseat to serving this great country. Every so often throughout my duty I would pull out Emily's Choice and tweak it. The story evolved many times with at least six drafts sitting on the shelf. After my commitment was fulfilled, I moved to Northern Virginia and began building my career. Again, every once in a while I would pull out my writing and work on new story ideas or tweak Emily's Choice. Approximately ten years fly by in which I meet my wonderful husband, we get married, we move to Maine, we welcome a son and a daughter into our life and then a move to Pennsylvania. We arrive in 2011, mid-October 2011 to be exact. My friend Sam had been urging me for a couple of years to participate in the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) event. And finally in 2011, the stars and planets were perfectly aligned to allow me this opportunity. I was excited, thinking this would be the push I needed to finish Emily's Choice once and for all. But it wasn't to be. You see, I had to begin a new idea for NaNoWriMo, not take an old one. After all, the goal is 50,000 words in 30 days and I already had beyond that with Emily's Choice. So, To Love Twice was born that fateful afternoon of November 1, 2011. I finished To Love Twice in January 2013 and published it exclusively on Amazon Kindle in March 2013. I still live in Pennsylvania, with my amazing family and when I'm not being super mom and wife, I eek out time to work on my next novel.
