110 reviewsThis is the final of the three-volume edition of classical papers on algebraic and differential topology published in 1950—60s. The partition of these papers among the volumes is rather conditional. It should be recognized that an agreeable exposition of these results does not exist in coursebooks up to now, The best way to study them is by reading the original papers. For readers' convenience we reproduce on the following page a graph, which demonstrates logical interrelation between these publications: if one of them is to be studied after another, then the corresponding relation is denoted by an arrow. Milnor's books "Lectures on the h-cobordism theorem" and "Lectures of Characteristic Classes" (Milnor 1.6 and Milnor 11.2) are not included in these volumes (thus the other items of volumes I and II should be shifted accordingly). We also list here some complementary references which will surely be useful in studying and its applications.
