He received a PhD in Economics from Stanford University, USA, in

Nguyen Duc Thanh is the founder and CEO of the Viet Nam Center
for Economic and Strategic Studies (VESS), Ha Noi. He was founding
president of the Viet Nam Institute for Economic and Policy Research
(VEPR), VNU University of Economics and Business (2008-2020), and
member of the Economic Advisory Group for the Vietnamese Prime
Minister (2011-2016). He received a PhD in Development Economics
from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS),
Japan in 2008. His recent books include the series of Viet Nam Annual
Economic Reports published during 2009-2020.
Pham Thi Huong is a senior researcher at VEPR. She received an MSc
in International Cooperation Policy from the Graduate School of Asia
